Steyrvolt 7 August Firstly lets start with the good will be quick the acting is amongst the worst I've ever seen in a film, literally, it's a range of people probably genuinely from a street life style and upper-class people who know how to dance street despite the fact street dance is meant to be a representation of your life-style and culture and there are also other dance styles in there too - but to be honest that is the only reasonably entertaining thing about the movie and that's https://vastergardclassic.se/hd-stream-filme/abenteuer-filme-von-2009.php due to choreography and over-dramatic scenes, now to the bad grab a coffee. Notwendig immer aktiv. The way these bizarre human beings behave is often as crazy as their dance skillz, and to top it off, the film suffers from Dual Protagonist Disorder.

It's a benign case, but there's really no accounting for it. We're introduced to "Moose" Adam G. Sevani , an incoming NYU freshman who gets swept up in the underground dancing scene, and who may be the last hope for a crew known as the Pirates, whose dance dojo get this is in danger of being reclaimed by the bank.

Alternating between the two stories, audience empathy is split, and they each end up with a half share.

It works when they're dancing, or better yet dancing together, but "Step Up 3D" suffers when it tries to bring plot to the forefront.

The last half-hour in particular drags when mouths start to move faster than feet. Shut up and dance, you idiots!

Nevertheless, you really can't lose sight of intention here. Of course the 3D "Step Up" isn't a great movie. It's easy to hate for all its flashy vacuity, but like I said, it might very well be impossible to be disappointed by.

Going through my checklist, I got exactly what I expected, not the least of which was some truly accomplished re: ludicrous dancing photographed impressively in 3D.

But the most impressive thing about it is that even in snidely seeking it out for my own derisive enjoyment, it delivered. Ultimately, it doesn't matter why; the point is —It's fun.

Pure Trash. People who liked this film shouldn't even go see movies. You're the reason why crap like this makes tons of money while other films that actually have meaning and an interesting story filled with actually well written characters suffer at the box office.

Anyone who liked this has no right to watch movies. At all. I mean I get a movie being entertaining but it should entertain through the story and characters Screw this movie and anyone who liked it.

Wow - I read Movieguys review and felt compelled to write my own. I agree, the acting is pretty average and the story line is pretty predictable, but this has to be one of the most entertaining movies of the year.

If you prefer to watch something from Jim Jarmusch, then yeah I would suggest that this isn't the movie for you, but if you are looking for entertainment, then you will love this.

The dancing is better than Step Up 2. I was honestly surprised by some of the moves, which is a hard thing to do these days with the raft of different dance movies that have been released.

Music - not just RNB but lots of pop and even a sneaky singing in the rain remix which will please all ages.

Funny - some parts of the movie are genuinely funny. Some might say this is an accident but you have to give Jon Chu more credit than that.

He plays it well. If you are in the mood for a fun movie where you can check your brain at the door and just smile your way through then go and check this out.

The Step Up franchise is still the original and the best of the dance genre. MosHr 28 July I saw this movie at a screening and really enjoyed it.

The 3d aspect is done quite well with the in your face dance moves and dance effects. However, I can't help but get the feeling that it wasn't done to its full potential and I'm sure the sequel to this movie will remedy that.

I don't think the dance moves were choreographed with 3d in mind but I'm sure this will be realized in later movies as well.

But, what is done here is really something I've never seen before. The plots and subplots are good enough to drive the story forward but not too overbearing to take anything away from the dancing.

The only problem that I felt was that from the vast pool of supporting cast and dancers, the story focuses squarely on the lead. A lot of reviewers on IMDb talk about quality of acting and directing but I'm not knowledgeable enough in those things to comment about them.

Nor am I too knowledgeable about dance moves. However, as an average viewer, I did see some martial arts and parkour influences. Apart from that, I had no idea why someone was winning a competition or what the rules were but as you'd expect, the dance aspects were really well performed and presented.

The movie takes dancing and competitions very seriously and it never falls into "unintentionally funny" moments which is quite a feat since the dance genre is so heavily parodied.

The other uncomfortable aspect was the product placement and brand splashing. I suppose a lot of movies are doing this to help out the budgeting but when characters start sprouting about some brand of shoes or when the underground dance competition has a huge product banner on the wall, it really hurts the movie since it pulls you out of their world and you realize you're in a cinema and you're watching an advertisement or product placement.

Overall, the movie is enjoyable and the 3d aspects are a prelude to what is possible with this genre and 3d technology.

The cast is young and vibrant though all I've never seen them in another movie before. The dancing is presented really well here and this is an enjoyable movie.

Insultingly predictable story about a bunch of homeless kids who can dance don't ask living in a huge loft. Their leader is hot, hunky, handsome Luke Rick Malambri.

Servani for part of the group. However they might be evicted from their loft for non-payment of rent. The only way of doing that is winning some big dance-off against their nasty rivals--the Sumurais.

Who will win the big dance off? Who do you think? An utterly predictable story and laughable dialogue really sink this one.

Add acting that would be laughed out of a grade school play and characters with NO depth or point. Malambri and Vinson are certainly easy on the eyes and he has two shirtless scenes but that doesn't help.

I admit I did get a little misty-eyed at the thoroughly predictable ending which proves I'll cry at anything:. However the dancing here is incredible!

It's full of energy and life and comes roaring off the screen. In 3-D it's even better--they seem to be right there in person.

I jumped multiple times when people jabbed their fingers at the camera while dancing: Also the 3-D is used as it should be--a gimmick.

It's not going to add any depth to any already vapid film and they use it to throw things at the audience gleefully. The dancing does work in 3-D on a big screen with the music pounding at you.

In 2-D or on TV it might not work that well. I can only give this a 5. If they had just the music and dancing without the cornball dramatics I might have rated it higher.

IndecisivePigeon 14 August Well after watching this movie I know why it was called step up 3D. Because if they didn't make it 3D, this pile of absolute rubbish wouldn't have made ANY money at all.

I can't even find the words to describe how terrible this was and I'm still disgusted that I spent money to watch this movie.

The storyline is scattered, predictable and at times, boring. The dialogue and acting is laughable, not in the good way I mean, the way the two main characters 'fall for each other' is just a joke, apparently the best way to get a girls attention is to follow her around the club with a camera.

There's a whole load of gaps in the storyline which I am not going to bother wasting my time commenting on.

Now, the dancing. Hmph, nothing above average. I'm not saying I could do any better, but there was nothing in the movie that was mind blowing.

I must admit Moose, the twins and the robot dude were pretty sick, but other than that I can't remember any of the other dances.

When I watch a dance movie I expect to be excited when they're dancing, I expect to be blown away by the quality and nothing in this movie did that for me which was a massive let down.

I was expecting them to top the scene in step up two when they were dancing in the rain but they didn't. But if you do chose to watch the movie you will be left with one question in your head: Is that it?

MatthewLong23 11 August This movie uses 3D to it's advantage and should only be seen in 3D. Unlike the previous 2 Step Up's the female character is not the main lead.

Instead it focuses on " Moose" who was in Step Up 2 and is going to college for engineering, promising his parents that his dancing days are over.

He went to college with his best friend Camille, who was in Step Up but was not in the previous one. Moose gets noticed by the leader of the "Pirates" who live in, what appears to be a very expensive warehouse which is also a club.

You find out that they cannot pay their rent and may loose the building unless they win a dance competition. They think they've found the answer to winning in Moose and Sarah, who comes to this club numerous times and is convinced to join their crew in winning the tournament.

The previews make it seem like Sarah is the main character in this film but she is not. She is only part of the big twist and does not really do much for the film.

The dancing in this film is good but seems computer generated at times. The use of 3D makes the film work as it makes the dance sequences seem very cool.

This is probably the first film i've seen that really benefits from 3D as most of the other films just use it as a marketing gimmick.

Overall if you really liked the first 2 step up's you will probably like this one. I'm not sure why people are giving this film such a hard time.

I watched it the other day and I thought it was amazing. The dancing blew me away. Come on, be realistic when you go to watch a dance film the storyline is never going to be very good.

I've got to admit the story is quite predictable and lame, but the dancing makes up for all that. The dancing is so creative and enjoyable to watch its definitely worth the time.

In my opinion the dancing is better than the previous step up movies. There's also a lot more dancing than acting I would say.

At the end it really makes you want to dance and get involved which I think is a bonus. I'm a little saddened that there aren't as many stars given for Step Up 3D as it deserves.

I've come back from watching it in theaters a little less than an hour ago, and my mind is still completely blown; Step Up 3D is a 10 in its own genre.

But really, that's what these movies are made for, right? Everyone is a dancer in this movie, and if you already can't tell how awed I am still, the dancing in this movie is so good that it makes the acting and plot both of which are actually better than Step Up 2's negligible.

Since this movie is in 3D after all, I really must emphasize that the visual effects that are put into this movie to combine with the dancing make the overall movie experience and film quality a lot more worthy.

I promise you, it will blow your mind, the heights to which dancing is showcased in Step Up 3D.

Step Up 3D may have 4. After you see it, you'll wish there were more stars to give for Step Up 3D's performances. An error has occured. Please try again.
